Happy Sunday Little Bear Families,

🐻 Blackwell Family Sunday Update

Happy Sunday, Blackwell Families!

Today is National Grandparents Day! 👵🏾👴🏾💛 We are excited to continue the celebration this Friday as we welcome our grandparents and special elders to the Little Bear Den!

⚾ Grand-Slam Breakfast with the Grands
📅 Friday, September 18 | 9:00–10:00 AM

Our partners from ExCELL will join us for a special activity for our Little Bears and their grandparents/elders.

RSVPs were due Friday, September 11, and we are no longer accepting additional RSVPs. This allows us to make sure we have ordered enough breakfast for everyone who registered.

Parents, if your child's grandparent or special elder is unable to attend, that's okay! During all of our family engagement events, we work to make sure every Little Bear is included and able to enjoy activities with their classmates. 💛

🔥 Safety Drill
We will conduct our second fire drill this week. Our Little Bears did a wonderful job with the first one, and we will continue practicing our school safety routines throughout the year.

🎉 Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month begins September 15 and continues through October 15! Our classrooms will incorporate opportunities to learn about and celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture throughout the month. We are also planning a special celebration during the week of October 15, so be on the lookout for more information! 🌎🎶

📚 Back-to-School Curriculum Night
📅 October 1 | 3:30–4:30 PM

Come learn more about our preschool curriculum, assessments, classroom routines, and the exciting learning experiences your child will have this year. We hope to see you there!

📅 Looking Ahead
🚫 Monday, September 21 – NO SCHOOL in observance of Yom Kippur.

We are looking forward to another wonderful week of learning, growing, and celebrating in the Little Bear Den! 🐻💛

School Hours

Blackwell Preschool hours: Doors open 7:30 am, school starts 7:45 am, early dismissal 1:00 pm, school ends 2:15 pm.

Parent Drop-Off and Pick-Up 🚗🚸

When coming into the front parking lot, parents/guardians will pull to the left into the car lane. Buses will pull to the right in the bus lane. Please see the picture below as a reference. Parents, please do not let your students out of the car in the morning until a staff member has come to your car to take them by hand. Please do not get out of your cars to go inside while in the car line. If you would like to come inside and get your student, we ask that you park in a parking space. Additionally, please refrain from placing students over the barrier wall, as this is unsafe. I thank you for your assistance in keeping all of our students safe.
 

Early Dismissal Ends at 1:00

Early dismissal ends daily at 1 pm so that we are able to prepare for dismissal and get students ready to go home. Students will not be released after 1 pm until 2:00 pm at normal dismissal. If you have an emergency or plan to pick a student up for a doctor's appointment but are running late, please call ahead so we know you are coming.
 

Change of Clothes 👕👖🧦🩳

Please provide a complete set of clothing, which includes a shirt, pants, underwear, and socks. We ask that you place the clothing in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child's first and last name.
